Machinery and electrical systems must be maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel. Vessel experienced overheat in port main engine. After further inspection, engine needs rebuilt and will be swapped out due to wear on bearings and cylinder liners. Vessel shall make repairs to the satisfaction of ABS. Once repairs are made, company is to notify the Coast Guard with an attestation of repairs. 46 CFR 143.205(a)

Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons on board under normal and emergency conditions. Vessel lost power to their STBD MDE and was unable to regain power to engine. Vessel is authorized one time transit to kirby old river dock to conduct repairs. Vessel shall verify cause and enact repairs to the satisfaction of the TPO.

Each towing vessel must be equipped with navigation lights, shapes, and sound signals in accordance with the International Regulations for Prevention of Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) or 33 CFR part 84 as appropriate to its area of operation. Vessel sustained damage to its mast during allision with Claiborne bridge that affected vessels navigation lights. Vessel restricted to daylight within clear visibility operations only until TPO report is provided to CG Marine Inspector documenting repairs to mast and navigation lights. 46 CFR 140.720
