Each cargo tank of a tank barge must have one of the following liquid overfill protection arrangements; a system meeting the requirements of 46 CFR 39.2007. Barge is equipped w/ a tankship liquid overfill protection. The system must activate a visual and audible alarm for high level alarm so that it can be seen and heard where cargo transfer is controlled. Additionally, the tank overfill alarm must activate a visual and audible alarm that can be seen and heard where cargo transfer is controlled and in the cargo deck area. The barge's overfill visual alarm is inoperable. Additionally, the #2 cargo tank high level and overfill alarms is inoperable. Repair prior to carriage of cargoes requiring vapor collection or closed gauging.
