Vessel has sustained damage to the 03 flybridge due to a flash fire caused by an unknown source. Identify the source that ignited the flash fire and notify OCMI for approval, and submit repair proposal and conduct repairs to all damage to the satisfaction of a USCG Marine Inspector. Vessel authorized to shift piers within [name withheld] Dock in daytime operations only. SOLAS 14 II-1/3.1

Any required automatic sprinkler, fire detection and fire alarm system shall be capable of immediate operation at all times and no action by the crew shall be necessary to set it in operation. The water mist system showed a pump control fault for phase/volt/overloads and was required to be reset during the inspection. The fire detection system was overloaded and required to be reset during the inspection. 74SOLAS(14) 7.2.2 & FSS 8.2.5.1.1

Resolution: Vessel Rep reset Fire Alarm System and Water Mist System. Fire Alarm/Detection system was tested in presence of MIs. System was operational at the time when COI was endorsed and MIs departed.
