Satisfactory means (in the form of guard rails, lifelines, etc) shall be provided for potection of the crew. At least 8 stanchions supporting lifelines around forward cargo bay openings were broken-off and/or missing. An equal number were bent enough to render them unsuitable to protect personnel working around open container bays. All broken, bent or missing stanchions need to be repaired or replaced.
