All ships of 500 gross tonnage and upwards shall have a gyrocompass bearing repeater, or other means, to take bearings, over an arc of the horizon of 360 degrees. Vessel can not demonstrate ability to take bearings as required. Vessel must provide documentation of ability to take bearings or provide documentation of an approved alternate means by the Commandant.

Vessel is utilizing an electronic log book for record keeping and signatures are not being done unless requested by a regulatory body.
