If during an Internal Structural Examination deterioration of the hull plating or structural members is discovered, the OCMI may require the vessel to be drydocked or otherwise taken out of service to further assess the extent of the damage and to affect permanent repairs. Corrosion was discovered in several locations in starboard Void #1 where the bottom plating meets the transverse bulkhead. Prove bottom plating has not corroded beyond tolerable wastage allowances.
