The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels associated piping systems and fittings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended. The oil cooler on the main diesel engine is partially supported by a temporary strap to relieve strain on a previously cracked and repaired bracket.

The vessel did not have two operational radars .
