Before the ship leaves port and at all times during the voyage, all life saving appliances shall be in working order and ready for immediate use. During the operational test of the rescue boat, the mechanical throttle linkage was damaged creating and unusable process for propulsion in deployed.

Resolution: Now the throttle was repaired by crew fixing with bolts, tested and found in order and working efficently

Fixed fire detection and fire alarm system installations shall be suitable for the nature of teh space, fire grouwh potential and potential generation of smoke and gas. PSCO's discovered smoke detectors in the FWD Bos'n stores that were affixed in a manner not designed for the full functionality w/ in the space.

Resolution: Now the fire detectors in fwd bosun store were properly fixed and installed and tested satisfactory. Fire detection alarm system expanded for testing and examined in the rest of the vessel (ER, galley, accommodation) and found satisfactory.

The electrical power available shall be sufficient to supply all those services that are essential for safety in an emergency, due regard being paid to such services. PSCO's discovered approximately 18 emergency lights that were extinguished, in-operable, or not functioning correctly.

Resolution: Spares bulbs onboard replaced all the extinguished emergency lights (mainly on deck areas) and most of the normal lighting (except three normal lights). Emergency lighting considered satisfactory..
