Before the ship leaves port and at all times during the voyage, all life saving appliances shall be in working order and ready for immediate use. During the operational test of the rescue boat, the mechanical throttle linkage was damaged creating and unusable process for propulsion in deployed.

Fixed fire detection and fire alarm system installations shall be suitable for the nature of teh space, fire grouwh potential and potential generation of smoke and gas. PSCO's discovered smoke detectors in the FWD Bos'n stores that were affixed in a manner not designed for the full functionality w/ in the space.

Resolution: Now the fire detectors in fwd bosun store were properly fixed and installed and tested satisfactory. Fire detection alarm system expanded for testing and examined in the rest of the vessel (ER, galley, accommodation) and found satisfactory.
