Cargo ships may carry one or more complying free-fall lifeboats complying with the requirements of section 4.7 of the code. The engine shall be capable of operating for not less than 5 minutes after starting from cold with the lifeboat out of the water. Ship's free-fall lifeboat engine does not have lubricating oil pressure, according to report from ship's crew. Vessel advises that lifeboat engine cannot be run for more than 10-20 seconds, rendering the lifeboat engine unusable in case of emergency
