Each floating waterlight must be approved in accordance with § 161.010 in subchapter Q. MI observed an expired battery in the light apparatus. Replace battery. Vessel restricted to daylight operations 46 CFR 180.70(d)(1)

A vessel must carry either a first-aid kit that meets the requirements in 46 CFR 199.175(b)(10) or a kit with equivalent contents and instructions. MI observed missing contents of asprin. Replace. 46 CFR 184.710

All vessels must have navigation lights that are in compliance with the applicable sections of the International and Inland Navigation Rules, except that a vessel of more than 19.8 meters (65 feet) in length must also have navigation lights that meet UL 1104, “Standards for Marine Navigation Lights,” or other standard specified by the Commandant. MI observed that the vessel's stern light lens was severely hazy due to UV damage and restricted the luminosity of the light. Vessel is restricted to daytime operations only until stern light/lens is replaced. 46 CFR 183.420

A visual and audible alarm must be provided at the operating station to indicate high water level in each space with a through hull fitting. The STBD hull, with its newly installed though hull transducer, must have a high level alarm installed. This alarm must have its own visual and audible indicator at the operating station signaling flooding in the STBD hull. 15 minute rounds should be made on this hull, while underway, until the alarm is installed. 46 CFR 182.530

Conductors in power and lighting circuits must be No. 14 AWG or larger. Cable and wire for power and lighting circuits must meet section 310-13 of NFPA 70, be listed by Underwriter Laboratories as UL Boat or UL Marine cable, or meet 111.60-1 in subchapter J for cable and 111.60-11 for wire. Common speaker wire found installed from an amplifier located under the operator steering station located starboard forward to speakers located throughout the vessel on the port and starboard side. The operator indicated that the conductors for the speakers and amplifier were installed after initial construction was completed. The conductors for the modified electrical system in a power circuit are not 14 AWG and do not meet the standard for UL Boat or UL Marine cable, section 310-13 of NFPA 70, or 111.60-1 in subchapter J for cable and 111.60-11 for wire. 46 CFR 183.183.340(c)

Vessel is Required to have EPIRBB due to limited coastwise route. EPIRB battery is expired. Replace with new battery. Route limited to Lakes, Bays, & Sounds. IAW: 41CFR180.205 (e) (3)
