The detection system shall initiate audible and visual alarms distinct in both respects from the alarms of any other system not indicating fire. PSCO observed no audible alarm in purifier space. 74 SOLAS (09). II-2/ 7.4.2/ 17abc

The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping/fittings shall be of a design/construction adequate for the service they are intended. PSCO observed that the #1 MDE heat exch. sea water discharges and the #2 MDE heat exch. sea water inlet pipe has non class approved temporary repairs. Certificate issuing authority to attest to continuing acceptances of the no class approved repairs within 7 days.

Resolution: #1 Sea Water discharge pipe of M/E Heat exchanger was removed, defective part cropped and inserted new pieces and welded in place. #2 Sea water inlet pipe defective area of the welds iwo flange was grinded and re-welded.
