Issued 27 August 2020 Resolved
Rescue boats shall be stowed: in a state of continuous readiness for launching in not more than 5 min, and, if the inflated type, in a fully inflated condition at all times. PSCO observed the rescue boat davit was unable to rotate because the connection point between the lever and the valve was stripped. Davit was able to rotate after the valve was manually opened by the Chief Engineer with a hand tool. SOLAS (14) III Reg 14.1

Resolution: Received Statement of Fact from vessel displaying repairs and testing completed by the Cheif Engineer to the rescue boat davit.
