1200 Load Lines. Markings shall be white or yellow on a dark background or dark on a light back ground. They shall also be permanently marked on the sides of the ship to the satisfaction of the Administration. The Port Side load line was displaying two active load lines. The one the crew claimed was active was not permanently marked. ICLL C 1/Reg 8.

0618-Stowage of Rescue Boat. Rescue boat shall be in a state of continious readiness and launching appliances shall not be dependant on any means of other than gravity or stored mechanical power independant from ships power to launch the surivival craft or rescue boat. PSCO observed that davit was stored 180 degrees out from the rescue boat and & unable to launch w/stowed energy. LSA 6.1.1.3

0635-Launching arrangements for rescue boats. Posted poster or sighn shall be provided in the vacinity of the survival craft and thier launching controls shall illistrate procedures. PSCO's noted that Emergency launching instrucitons were not availible in the SOLAS training manual or near the rescue boat. SOLAS III/9.2
