The machinery... shall be so installed and protected as to reduce to a minimum any danger to persons on board. During inspection of Emergency Generator, PSCOs observed excess black smoke coming from EGEN exhaust, causing a Carbon Monoxide Alarm reading of 48 ppm. 03 Coast Guard members were exposed and evacuated the space. Provide report from class certifying space is safe with no leaks for the safety of persons on board. 74 SOLAS (04) II-1/26.1

The ring lines and letters shall be painted in white... they shall also be permanently marked on the sides of ships to the satisfaction of the Administration. The marks shall be plainly visible. During dockside exam of vessel, PSCOs observed Load Line Markings not permanently ,arked. The deckline was also not plainly visible or painted. ICLL 1.8
