Each survival craft shall be stowed fully equipped as required by this chapter and the LSA Code. Every lifeboat shall consist of a food ration described in 4.1.5.1.18 totalling not less than 10,000 kj for each person the lifeboat is permitted to accommodate; these rations shall be kept in airtight packaging. 5 of 15 food ration packages (each being 20,000kj) were found not to be airtight, with one being completely opened and missing part of the rations. 74SOLAS(2014)III/13.1.4 & LSA Code 4.4.8.12; 17c

Vessel's fire main and associated piping as well as its hydrants shall be arranged such as to avoid the possibilty of freezing. Vessel's exterior fire hydrants were observed to be frozen and unable to discharge any water. 74SOLAS(14)/II-2 Reg 10.
