Ignition sources shall be separated from combustible material and flammable liquids. Numerous small bottles of butane were found stored in the engineering parts room and behind the switchboard in the engine control room. All flammable products were relocated to the paint locker by ships crew.

The 1974 SOLAS Convention requires that sufficiently detailed manufacturers’ training manuals and instructions be carried on board, which should be easily understood by the crew. Such manufacturers’ manuals and instructions should be accessible for everyone on board and observed and followed closely during drills At time of inspection vessel did not have a manufacture's instruction manual for safe lifeboat launching and recovery operations so that the life boat can be safely launched and recovered as required by 74 SOLAS (2020 Cons.) III/19.3.3.4.
