03102 Freeboard Marks - The Ring Lines and Letter shall be painted in where or yellow on a dark background or in black on a light background. They shall also be permanatly marked o n the sides of the ships to the satisfaction of the administration. The marks shall be plainly visible and if necessary, special arrangements shall be made for this purpose. PSC examiners discovered that port and starboard side load lines were not in contrasting colors. ICLL REG 8 - 40(a)(c).
