Every ship engaged on voyages within sea area A3 shall be provided with a recognized mobile satellite service ship earth station capable of: transmitting and receiving distress, urgency and safety communications; initiating and receiving distress priority calls; and maintaining watch for shore-to-ship distress alert relays, including those directed to specifically defined geographical areas. Vessel self reported inoperable INMARSAT-C which is effecting the LRIT and SSAS. 74SOLAS(20)IV/10.1.1
