Any ship of 400 GT and above shall be fitted with oil filtering equipment with arrangements to ensure that discharge of oily mixtures is automatically stopped when the oil content of the effluent exceeds 15 ppm. The three way solenoid valve is inoperable and therefore incapable of stopping oily water from discharging overboard IAW MARPOL Annex I Reg 14.7
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
