Oil tankers of 150 gross tons and above shall be equipped with an oil discharge monitoring and control system (ODME). Communication system for valve control in Cargo control room and local hydraulic valve was operational one day prior, however, [name withheld] was unable to prove operation of ODME using approved test procedures during USCG examination. MARPOL/I/31.2
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 40 - Rectify deficiencies prior to next US port after sailing foreign
Resolved 17 November 2024
Resolution: Submitted documentation and evidence of repair to ODME.
