Any ship of 10,000 gross tons and above shall be fitted with oil filtering equipment complying with paragraph 7 of this regulation. During the operational test of the OWS, PSC Officers were not able to witness the satisfactory operation of hte filtering system. Spare filters were expected to be delivered at next port. Must be corrected by next US port after sailing foreign to satisfaction of USCG. MARPOL Annex I/14.2

The machinery, boilers, and other pressure vessels, associated piping systems and fittings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended and shall be so installed and protected as to reduce to a minimum any danger to persons on board. Temporary patches were discovered on the saltwater cooling lines, and temporary hose was found connecting the MGO service tank to the MDO settling tanks. Must be corrected by next US port after sailing foreign to satisfaction of class and USCG. SOLAS 14 II-1/26.1
