During the inspection of the cargo pump prime mover space one fire extinguisher gauge was discovered in the red. Satisfactory evidence could not be provided of adequate monthly servicing. Replace/renew fire extinguisher identified during inspection and provide sufficient documentation (photo/email statement)once it is back on station and ready for immediate use.46 CFR 31.10-18(a) NFPA 10

Vessel opened the cargo pump pressure gauge porthole to cool of the cargo pump engine room compromising the gastight bulkhead. The porthole needs to be permanently closed.

Resolution: Porthole closed with nuts and bolts and vessel rep instructed to keep the porthole closed unless the barge is certified gas free. Hinged porthole must be replaced with a fixed window type by next credit drydock. Note added to vessel details.
