After the dates listed in Table 151.2035 (b), vessels may use a USCG-approved ballast water treatment system, use water from the public water system, or use a previously installed alternate management system (AMS). Ballast water exchange is not a permissible ballast water management strategy for vessels past their compliance date.
Subject vessel is an existing vessel (KLD 12DEC2012) so the vessel's compliance date is 1st scheduled dry-dock after January 1, 2016. Vessel completed dry-dock in October 2018; therefore vessel is past its compliance date and BWE is not a permissible ballast water management strategy to comply with the U.S. regulations.
Vessel's installed BWTS, Techcross Electro-Cleen, is currently not fully operational.
