Fire doors in main vertical zone bulkheads, galley boundaries and stairway enclosures, except those for emergency escape trunks, shall be capable of remote release from the continuously manned central control station, either siultaneously or in groups, and shall be capable of release also individually froma position at both sides of the doors. Release switches shall have an on-off function to prevent automatic resetting of the system. PSCO observed that the release switches from both sides of the galley boundry fire door 08-5-04 were inoperable due to error code in the controller. Reculatory Cite 74 SOLAS 20 II-2/9.4.1.1.5.3 action 16ac and then cleared on spot

Escape door from public spaces that are normally latched shall be fitted with means of quick release. Such means shall consist of a door-latching mechanism incorporating a device that releases the latch upon the application of a force in the direction of escape flow. PSCO's observed the primary means of escape in the Coastal Kitchen was only able to be opened by pressing a button on the side wall and not in the direction of escape causing the door to not have a means of quick release. 74SOLAS(20) II-2/13
