The ring, lines and letters shall be painted in white or yellow on a dark ground or in black on a light ground. They shall also be permanently marked on the sides of the ship to the satisfaction of the administration. The marks shall be plainly visible. Load Line mark displayed on hull of vessel on both port and starboard side did not match what was displayed on Load Line Certificate, and permanent marking could not be verified.
