During the 31 JAN 2024 Dry Dock / Internal Structural Exam Marine Inspectors observed an open HVAC electrical panel and required operator to install a backing plate on the electrical panel.
Marine Inspectors received notification on 22 MAR 2024 that a temporary plastic bin had been installed to satisfy the above requirement. The material was deemed not suitable for continued usage by Marine Inspectors.
Provide a permanent backing plate to remove the electrical shock hazard for crew members and/or passengers.
