14104 - Pollution Prevention - The system shall also be provided with arrangements to ensure that any discharge of oily mixtures is automatically stopped when the oil content of the effluent exceeds 15ppm. During the operational test of the OWS the PSCO observed the 3 - way valve did not change over the direction of effluent flow from overboard to bilge holding tank. The crew had to disconnect the valve and clean it. After reassembly the valve still did not activate properly. Crew attempted to retrieve saved data points on OCM however they were unable to pull up actual operational status of dates IE 02JUL23, 13MAY23. After reviewing the manual PSCO discovered the manual on page 7 indicates the sample water inlet line shall be 3M or less of overall length. It is currently longer than 3M. 16AC - MARPOL I/14.7
