Oil fuel pipes, if damaged, would allow oil to escape from a tank having a capacity of 500L and above shall be fitted with a valve dirrectly on the tank capable of being closed from a safe position outside the space. The shutoof mechanism to the fuel shut off in the emergency generator space would not activate form outside the space. SOLAS 04 II-2/4.2.2.3.4
