In meeting these requirements the company should ensure that: Inspections are held at appropriate internals. PSCO observed that in accordance with company maintinance schedule, the following are overdue: The fuel pump maintinance is overdue by 245 hours on cyl # 3,4,5,6 (with #5 failing and having been replaced today). the HP Booster PP (suc valve and top cover) maintinance is over due by 1381 hours on cyl #1,2,3,4,5,6. The cyl liner condition check maintanence is overdue by 621 hours on cyl #1 and 271 hours on cyl #2,3,4,5,6. 60a,c

The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping systems and fittings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended and shall be so installed and protected as to reduce to a minimum any danger to persons on board, due regard being paid to moving parts, hot surfaces and other hazards. Chief Engineer reported to PSCO that a propulsion irregularity, was identified on control unit number five on the main propulsion engine resulting in an alarm and RPM reduction while maneuvering in preparation to moor at facility.
