FOR TANKERS OF 20,000 TONNES DEADWEIGHT AND UPWARDS, THE PROTECTION OF CARGO TANKS SHALL BE ACHIEVED BY A FIXED INERT GAS SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE FIRE SAFETY SYSTEMS CODE. DETAILED INSTRUCTION MANUALS SHALL BE PROVIDED ON BOARD, COVERING THE OPERATIONS, SAFETY, AND MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH HAZARDS RELEVANT TO THE INERT GAS SYSTEM AND ITS APPLICATION TO THE CARGO TANK SYSTEM. THE CLASS-APPROVED INERT GAS MANUAL STATES THERE IS ONLY ONE O2 ANALYZER FOR THE SYSTEM WHILE TWO INSTALLED ANALYZERS WERE NOTED ON THE PANEL.
