10118 - Speed and distance indicator - The administration shall be satisfied that adequate arrangements are in place to ensure that the performance of the equipment required by this chapter is maintained. During bridge examination port state control officer observed an alarm on the VDR panel showing that the Doppler Speed Log was Non-Operational. Technician currently scheduled to address equiptment but if unable to recrify master will have to request and outbound LOD (Letter of Deviation) or provide Flag Dispensation. SOLAS 74 (2014) V/16.1
Action required: 16 - Rectify deficiencies w/in 14 days

Resolution: Received, reviewed and accepted technician report from Mackay Marine stating the deficiency was rectified. Technician found power control circit not switching on (fully). Replaced terminal PCB (main board distributer) and the system was fully functional.
