Fire-fighting systems and appliances shall be kept in good working order and readily available for immediate use. Portable extinguishers which have been discharged shall be immediately recharged or replaced with an equivalent unit. Numerous portable extinguishers on deck are not fully charged and are severely deteriorated, with dry rotted and cracked hoses.

The ships crew are currently conducting modifications to the Alternate Management System for the Ballast Water Management System, and stated they did not plan on having Flag State or class society attest and approve the modifications.
