The normal equipment of every lifeboat shall consist of a food ration not less than 10,000KJ for each person the lifeboat is permitted to accommodate; these rations shall be kept in airtight packaging and be stowed in a watertight container.
PSCO observed 18 inedible rations due to the lack of airtight packaging, out the required 25, as specified by maximum capability of ships free fall lifeboat. LSA Code Ch. III/Reg. 4.4.8.12
