At each inspection for certification and at every other vessel inspection, quarters, toilet and washing spaces, galleys, serving pantries, lockers, and similar spaces may be examined to determine that they are serviceable and in a sanitary condition. MI observed black mold in two wooden containers used for storage of 16 adult lifejackets. Possible mold observed on lifejackets as well. O/o to clean and treat affected areas and lifejackets to the satisfaction of the MI.

Marine inspector observed lanyard attaching floating waterlight to a life float to be deteriorated by ultraviolet light.
