The machinery, boilers and other pressure vessels, associated piping systems and fitings shall be of a design and construction adequate for the service for which they are intended and shall be so installed and protected as to reduce to a minimum any danger to persons onboard. PSCO observed missing plug on quick closing valve located on #2 generator. Plug backed out due to vibrations. Crew re-installed and tightened plug with silicone tape and conducted satisfactory tests.

ship and protection of the environment. PSCO observed that the Radio Officer were not conducting the required tests at the frequency outlined in the GMDSS logbook and per the ship Safety Management System. The company shall provide a corrective action plan for the GMDSS testing, with the concurrence of the Administration or the Certificate issuing authority.
