Fire fighting systems and appliances shall be kept in good working orderand readily available for immediate use. Upon initial examination, vessel's emergency fire pump was unable to take suction or provide adequate pressure to the fire main. Crew attempted to work on the system during the course of the PSC exam, however by conclusion of the exam the crew was unable to demonstrate proper operation of the pump.
