The purpose of this regulation is to maintain and monitor the effectiveness of the fire saftey measures the ship is provided with. For this purpose, the following functional requirements shall be met: fire protection systems and fire-fighting systems and appliances shall be properly tested and inspected. PSCO observed a lack of approved test equipment for heat detectors in engine room. 74 SOLAS (14) II-2/14.1.2 Code 50ac
