Before the ship leaves port and at all times during the voyage, all life-saving appliances shall be in working order and ready for immediate use. PSCO observed the rescue boat engine to be inoperable. (74 SOLAS (20) III/20.2)

Resolution: Resolved: Rescue boat was tested in the water including launching device. It was found that the fuel pump needed to be cleaned and the VRO pump needed to be adjusted.

Fire-fighting systems and appliances shall be kept in good working order and readily available for immediate use. PSCO observed a crack approximately 5 inches in length along the bottom of the starboard fire main piping between cargo holds #1 and #2. (74 SOLAS (20) II-2/14.2.1.2)

Resolution: Resolved: Fractured pipe was cropped out and replaced with new piping. Tested system pressue with 2 hoses running at highest and farthest point with satisfactory results.

0938-Construction/loadline- The condition of the ship and its equipment shall remain fit to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons on board. The vessel allided with the dock fender system resulting in a 150mm x 100mm hole to the #1 port ballast tank at frame 224. Vessel is to proceed to anchorage after cargo operations to have a permanent repair made.
