Steering gear compartments shall be: provided with suitable arrangements to ensure handrails and gratings or other nonslip surfaces to ensure sutiable workings conditions in the event of hydraulic fluid leakage. Steering gear room did not have gratings or nonslip surfaces on deck of steering gear compartments.
