Fire fighting, MOB and abandon ship drills / training shall be logged or otherwise documented for review by the Coast Guard upon request. Each EPIRB must be tested monthly, using the integrated test circuit and output indicator, to determine that it is operative. The EPIRB test required by this paragraph shall be logged or otherwise documented. MI observed out-of-date training/EPIRB maintenance/testing log. A vessel must be provided with bilge pumps in accordance with 46 CFR Subchapt T Table 182.520(a). MI observed nonoperational float switch for bilge pump located in machinery space. Repair float switch within one week. 46 CFR 182.520 (a)

A vessel on a limited coastwise route must carry six hand red flare distress signals approved in accordance with § 160.021 and six hand orange smoke distress signals approved in accordance with § 160.037 in subchapter Q. MI observed vessel with 3 of the 12 required flares due to expire "NOV2025". Replace flares by the 15th of the month. 46 CFR 180.68

Each ship transporting more than six passengers for hire equipped with a radiotelephone station in accordance with Part III of Title III of the Communications Act must carry a radio operator who meets the following requirements: (1) Where the station power does not exceed 250 watts carrier power or 1500 watts peak envelope power, the radio operator must hold a marine radio operator permit or higher class license. (2) Where the station power exceeds 250 watts carrier power or 1500 watts peak envelope power, the radio operator must hold a general radiotelephone operator license or higher class license. MI observed master of vessel does not have marine radio / general radiotelephone operator permit. Vessel operations are restricted to 1,000 FT from shore. 47 CFR 80.159(e)(1)&(2)

Stations in the maritime service must be licensed by the FCC either individually or by fleet. MI observed vessel does not have a FCC Station License onboard. Vessel operations are restricted to 1,000 FT from shore. 47 CFR 80.13 (a)

Vessel must undergo an annual inspection as specified in paragraph (b)(1) of this section. Vessel must undergo an annual inspection within 3 months before or after the each anniversary date. Vessels anniversary date was May 2nd, 2025, and vessel is past 3 months from said date. Vessel shall not operate with passengers until an annual inspection has been complete. 46CFR176.500(b) 701c

A vessel that is exposed to salt water more than three months in any 12 month period since the last examination must undergo a drydock examination and an internal structural at least once every two years. Vessel was due for drydock examination on March 31st, 2025 and has yet to receive a drydock exam. Vessel shall not operate with passengers until an drydock inspection has been completed.

Each disposable EPIRB hydrostatic release must be marked with an expiration date of two years after the date on which the unit is installed. EPIRB hydrostatic release unit is not marked and possibly expired. Release unit to be replaced and properly marked. Vessel restricted to a Lakes, Bays and Sounds route. 46 CFR 185.740

The life ring grab line shall be 3/8-inch diameter polyethylene, polypropylene, or other suitable buoyant type synthetic material having a minimum breaking strength of 1,350 pounds. The life ring grab line parted when pulled. Grab line or life ring to be replaced. 46 CFR 160.050-3(a)

Each life line on a ring life buoy must be of at least 60 feet in length. Vessel only had 50 feet of line. 46 CFR 180.70(c)(2)

Repair/replace ring buoy grab line, grab lines shall meet 46CFR160.050-3(c): grab line shall be 3/8in diameter polypropylene, polypropylene or other suitable buoyant type synthetic material having breaking strength of 1,350 pounds. The grab line length shall be 4 times the outside of the diameter of the ring buoy.

Provide up to date nautical chart and publications for the area of operation to include: U.S. Coast Pilot [name withheld], Tide Tables and Currents.

Post sign with letters at least 1 inch "COI available upon request"
