Where the emergency source of electrical power is a generator, it shall be started automatically upon failure of the main source of electric al power. Emergency generator does not have a means of automatic start upon loss of power due to failure of batteries. The vessel was issued a temporary permission to sail from flag until 10/23/2019 and the issue has not been resolved. 74 SOLAS (04 CONS) II-1/43.3.1.2 17a

Resolved 24 October 2019
Resolution: Emergency Generator Batteries were replaced with new ones, it was then tested to start with loss of power with the batteries and found in good working condition.
