The detection and fire alarm system required by SOLAS 4.1.1 shall be so designed and detectors positioned as to detect rapidily... The detection system shall initiate audible and visual alarms distinct in both respects... Smoke detectors in Engine Control Room did not initate audible and visual alarm, all other detectors triggered visual and audible alarm.
