PSCO discovered a zip-tie over the sensor above the suction line valve for Power Pack #4, which provided faulty position indication in contrast with its design. Sensor was replaced and found in satisfactory operation. 74 SOLAS (20), I/ll(a)

Under all sailing conditions, including maneuvering, the speed, direction of thrust and, if applicable, the pitch of the propeller shall be fully controllable from the navigation bridge. Due to failure of the main engine unit #1 full control module, bridge control of the main engine was lost and was given to local control from the engine control room.
