Fire-Fighting systems and appliances shall be kept in good working order and readily available for immediate use. PSC Officer observed 09 CO2 system nozzle heads in the floor level of the engine room were painted over clogging the discharge port openings and restricting effectiveness and operational readiness of the fire suppression system. 74 SOLAS (14 CONS ED) II-2/14.2.1.2

Resolved 30 July 2016
Resolution: Vessel removed all CO2 nozzle heads and cleaned remaining paint. PSC received the attending Classification Societies attestation that the nozzles were cleaned and free of any obstructions.
