OIL TANKER OF 20,000 TONS DEADWEIGHT AND ABOVE, CONSTRUCTED ON OR AFTER 01 JAN2012, SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH A FIXED HYDROCARBON GAS DETECTIONS SYSTEM COMPLYING WITH THE FIRE SAFETY CODE FOR MEASURING HYDROCARBON GAS CONCENTRATIONS IN ALL BALLAST TANKS AND VOID SPACES OF DOUBLE HULL AND DOUBLE HULL BOTTOM SPACES ADJACENT TO THE CARGO TANKS.THE CREW WAS UNABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE HIGH GAS CONCENTRATION ALARM FOR THE DETECTION SYSTEM CABINET INTERNAL SAMPLING POINT. SOLAS 74(AMENDED) II-2/4.5.7.3.1
