(d) The hose must be a lined commercial fire hose 15 meters (50 feet) in length, at least 40 millimeters (1.5 inches) in diameter. The fixed fire main system fire stations are fitted with 1” diameter hose. Install 1.5” diameter hose at each fire station if minimum 50 PSI and 80 GPM can be achieved or as a temporary measure place self-priming portable pump onboard IAW applicable regulation. Repair, replace, or take out of service fixed fire main system and test to the satisfaction of attending Marine Inspector.

Piping and machinery components that exceed 220 °C (428 °F), including fittings, flanges, valves, exhaust manifolds, and turbochargers, must be insulated. Measures must be in place to prevent flammable or combustible liquid piping leaks from coming into contact with these components. The port main engine exhaust bellows near turbo was cracked and had temporary repairs. Permanently repair or replace Port MDE exhaust bellows and re-install exhaust lagging.
