Oil filtering equipment referred to in paragraph 1 of this regulation shall be of a designed and approved type by the administration...shall have regard to the specification reccomonded by the organization (MEPC.107(49)). The oil content meter display is malfunctioning, data history logging requirements in MEPC.107(49) cannot be verified. The OWS functions as intended. The vessel may not utilize the OWS to discharge while in U.S. waters. MARPOL I/14.6, Code 50AC (Class and USCG acceptance for corrective action).
