The function of fixed fire detection and fire alarm systems shall be periodically tested to the satisfaction of the Administration by means of equipment producing hot air at the appropriate temperature, or smoke or aerosol particles having the appropriate range of density or particle size, or other phenomena associated with the detector is designed to respond. Crew did not use appropriate tools for testing the flame sensor.

9800-Deck/cargo- Cylinders must always be secured and, when not in use, they must be stowed in a rack in an upright position, with the valve protection cap in place. Attending PSCO observed numerous oxygen and acetylene compressed gas cylinders in the deck lockers that were not properly placed in a rack and missing the valve protection cap.
