9800-Deck/cargo- Cylinders must always be secured and, when not in use, they must be stowed in a rack in an upright position, with the valve protection cap in place. Attending PSCO observed numerous oxygen and acetylene compressed gas cylinders in the deck lockers that were not properly placed in a rack and missing the valve protection cap.

Resolution: Corrective action was verified during the course of PSC Exam. Cylinders were properly bracketed and valve protection caps properly applied.
