COMPANY REPORTED ODME WAS INOPERABLE. CLASS SURVEY REQUIRED FOLLOWING REPAIRS TO OBSERVE FULL FUNTIONALITY OF ODME. MARPOL ANN I CH.4 REG 31.3

The condition of the ship and its equipment shall be maintained to conform with the provisions of the present regulations to ensure that the ship in all respects will remain fir to proceed to sea without danger to the ship or persons onboard. PSCO observed a faulty PCB on main engine that caused slow down due to faulty temperature alarm indication. Ship personnel conducted replacement of circuit board. Awaiting class for satisfactory testing of the system.

1850:For Tankers 20000 DWT and upwards, protection of the cargo tanks shall be a fixed Inert Gas System IAW the requirement of the FSS code. Vessels O2 sensor on the Nitrogen system is inoperable and unable to provide accurate percentage being supplied to cargo area. Vessel is not authorized to load any annex I or Annex II cargos that are required to be inerted. SOLAS 74a (09 cons) II-2/5.5.1.1 a,c

Resolved 23 January 2018
Resolution: Received, reviewed, and accepted a class report from NKK stating the deficiency was rectified. The report stated that the O2 sensor for the Nitrogen Generator was replaced with a new one, tested, and found to be working satisfactorily.
