Tankers shall be equipped with at least one portable instrument for measuring oxygen and one for measuring flammable vapour concentrations, together with a sufficient set of spares. Suitable means shall be provided for the calibration of such instruments. PSCO observed that the vessel had run out of calibration gas thus did not have any means to calibrate its tank scope meters. SOLAS (24) II-2/4.5.7.1
Condition: Improper/Lack of Maintenance
Action required: 40 - Rectify deficiencies prior to next US port after sailing foreign
Resolved 29 December 2025
Resolution: Vessel ordered replacement calibration gas and provided receipts and photographs to support.

The ring, lines, and letters shall be painted in white or yellow on a dark ground or in black on a light ground. PSCO observed that the load lines on both sides of the vessel were not painted. ICLL 8

Resolved 29 December 2025
Resolution: Vessel painted the appropriate load line marking on both sides of the vessel and provided photographs supporting and RO approval email.
